• In the world where cash is becoming increasingly less used, £1 replacements are useful. This will give the keyring a use.
• For 500 units costing 60p it will be expenditure of £300. yet if sold for £3 each a profit of £1,200.
• It takes 3-4 weeks to make so an order will have to be put in early
• There's no information for delivery without sending off the artwork.
• There is a 3p extra cost for each colour, however that should only be 1 colour as it is the logo and the black background.

Note: In previous meetings it was clarified Amazon UK would be a good option as it is already on the school system, however they only do blank key rings where we would have to print and insert the pictures ourselves.

• For a simple acrylic magnet and 250 units were brought at a 42p unit price the total expenditure would be £150, however if sold for £2 the total profit would be £300

• For 500 of these higher spec/nicer aesthetic magnets it would cost  £220 to buy, if sold for £2 each there would be a profit of £780

Unit 68- Christmas Student Concert 1

For each new position or colour I programmed a new pallet so if I need to adapt the lighting to the space it will do it to all the cues.

The first state was simple lighting for a solo singer using the front XL250.

The second state was for Christmas song for a band for when they first go on stage.

For the verse the state stays the same and then the back strips have slow movement.

Then for the chorus the strips move more and so do the Robe beams, 2 of the XL250s have a star gobo. This can be built on for each chorus.

 

Unit 72- Ramp Building- 10/12/15

First of all using a ruler and pencil we measured off the 5 measurements for the stands, then with the markings drawn and squared off we saw each stand.

Once sawn the edges were rough and needed straightening/evening so by sanding them on a band saw we evened the wood ends out.

To ensure they were even using an engineering square we can ensure how straight they are.

Our five stands will be attached to a longer piece of wood to make the ramp.

We measured, cut and sawed the longer top beam for the ramp and neatened the edges by sanding them.

the on each of the stumps we needed to drill holes to attach with screws to the beams. By measuring 15mm from either end and measuring the width it allowed lines to be squared off with an engineering square and then crossed ready to drill.

Ensuring a piece of scrap wood is under the piece (to stop it drilling into the desk) using a drill I drilled down where the marks were on each piece of wood.

Next lesson we will screw this wood to the bottom beam.

Starlight Tickets

Yesterday it was established in the production meeting I needed to do the Starlight tickets ASAP. So yesterday using the band colours from previous show I inputted on Photoshop my redesigned Starlight logo and font.

This was the band used from previous shows.

Christmas Student Concert Prep for Sound- 9/12/15- Unit 69

First of all I needed to connect the XLR into the soloist microphones at the front of the stage, then I needed to
connect this into the patch bay at the side of the stage to send it to the box.

The 2 solo mics were plugged into the patch bay in 10 and 11 this then patched the mics into the mixer
hence the signal could come through.

To test all of our connections and cables were working we PFL the 2 channels were the mics were patched, this allowed us to check the signals on the bars at the top of the mixer. When PFL was on we also set the gain as Lauren talked into the mic (in the performance the gain may have to be set lower as singers are louder than the talking). Once we were finished the PFL was taken off we routed the channel to LR speaker and 1 and 2, then we unmuted the channel and brought the fader up to hear sound through the speakers.

When the monitors were turned on there was feedback, as monitors are connected through AUX connections on the 2 mic channels I turned all the AUX controls to 0, then on aux 1 and 2 for the left mic monitors and aux 3 on the right mic channel, I brought up the level until the mic could be heard through the monitors, this gave an appropriate level for the singer to hear without receiving feedback.

By turning down the Aux for the monitor on each of the channels for the guitar and drum mics it allowed us to programme each individual level so we don't have anymore feedback.

For the Di box for the keyboard we needed to set up 2, this is because a keyboard is stereo not mono sound, using a joint double jack to one jack head we connected the DI box through the input, then on the other side of the DI box using the output through the XLR we  connected both to the patch bay to send to the desk.

Using a jack lead in the 2 links we then connected to the 2 inputs on the amp for the keyboard, this will then be used during the show so the keyboard player can have their own 'monitor'. By connecting the boxes to the mixer using the buttons on the mixer at the top of each channel it can provide phantom power so the Di boxes will work. We experienced buzzing when the boxes turned on, we switched the switch to lift and it stopped the buzzing.

• Do the production slides for every production ( in FOS it will be displayed on 2 TV )
• I need to ask Mr Hancock for the ticket templates and the FOS plan to start plotting the furniture and problems of the space
