Tuesday Show

Throughout this show I trained Elisha on mics and had her shadow me as I fulfilled my role.

Just before the show the main generator went down, the back up generator is in the backstage area, if knocked it would take out all the power, I printed sings, taped around it and stood infant of it during the races to ensure it wasn't knocked.

One of the international trains needed her hair doing and as hair were busy I stepped in to help.
Front of house, especially the merchandise stand were struggling for light to I grabbed some of the uplighters in the flight case and I programmed them to a white light and fed power to them from over uplighters. This helped.

Whilst powering up the lights I realised that the tent had leaked on some of the 13 amp cabling. A health and safety risk.

Here is how we mic the international trains so they can change quickly from their boiler suits to their gang.

Angus needed his mic for the mic check as he wears it for the longest, he then disappeared after the mic check when Olly needed it to go on stage for a warm up as he wears it first, we found him but had to put the mic on quickly.

After my last show tomorrow Im leaving mics to rowan and Elisha, I added their initials to each mic change to help them keep track who's doing each one. Elisha also wrote these including who's changing them on her script and the characters these involve.

Wills mic had an odd setting where if you used the mute button it worked, this is bad if it's knocked, however this appeared on the stack so I changed the settings using this order Andy told me, I noted this down on the mic plot so when I'm away Rowan and Alisha know what to do.
We had to ensure mute mode is disabled so when the buttons on the mic are moved they don't cut out the mic.
There was a flight case against the band steps in the way of the races so before the show started we moved it to where the rest of the flight cases were.

This is the mic change where I move Toby's headset onto the mother then back, this went seamlessly.
Charlie's mic pack kept falling so I pinned it to his mic belt and it stayed really well.

Half way through act 1 we realised that Oscar's batteries were on 2 bars despite being changed and as he was on stage so often it was priority to get him a new set, we only had AC/DC before he was on stage so I had to do a rapid battery change!

To save Toby's voice I made him a green tea, lemon and honey during the interval.
All mic changes had gone perfecty and I glue gunned a carriage's knee pad back together.

At the end I was also really happy with how FOH looked and merchandise had made £287 which breaks even with the magnets, however only 5 were sold so by Thursday we may consider dropping the price.

Tuesday Rehearsal

As the programmes had arrived I added them to the merchandise stand, this was the final set up.

Not all the principals were mic for reh so I highlighted on the running order when and who i would need to mic for this.
Using a box backstage I made a larger used batteries box and I labelled this clearly.

I also used the show check lists in a plastic wallet in the front of my script that is on the mic table.

I also made and printed all the FOH badges.

In the afternoon I changed out all the mic batteries for fresh ones, as a fresh set are needed before every show.

In the later part of the afternoon I had to run errands for hair. I had to pick up hair extensions, which in the end these were to thin and I used black ones from Poundland which were sprayed, I also picked up purple hairspray and a pearl headpiece.

Pearl hair pieces weren't available as they were out this year, in a charity shop I brought 2 pearl bracelets, then I undid them and glue guned the pearls to the headpiece that I also brought in the charity shop. This gave a good aesthetic look, however it was over bearing when put on the wig, instead 2 pearls were glue gunned to bobby pins for the final look.

Sunday Rehersal

Firstly when I arrived, after on Thursday telling Ryan and Rowan to get the mic straps and accessories from the hall whilst I set up front of house. On Thursday and Friday I had not checked if this had been completed, consequently this morning I had to go and search for the mic straps and sort out colour copies of the mic plot. Of the buildings that were open none had coloured printers so when I had a free moment I had to go and get the keys from Sam for 6th form, however the colour printer there had an issue so I then had to go to reprographics to print it off.

In this time I also had to watch the stack and change any low running batteries.

When I had coloured mic plots I attached them together with masking tape. Then made one that can be moved around back stage

another that is taped to the table. This is to ensure there is always a mic plot.

I also annotated the mic plot as I am not here every night, I highlighted each song where there was a mic change....

Also how many mics were changed, the total number of mics changed and any complex mic changes are highlighted in pink and have corresponding notes.

Now for the full run I can easily implement mic changes, and as this rehearsal the cast are in costume it is helping me navigate the mic changes with this new added obstacle.I also had to start training Rowan, Ryan and Alanna on the mics. I had to change the batteries so the mics had full power throughout the rehearsal.

The Dress Rehearsal

Firstly I made a sign for the poster pens using black card and grips I found back stage.

During the races in the dress the trophy got knocked over, I found a glue gun and glued it back together.

Whilst I had the glue gun out I also glued Oscar's bricks onto his costume as his shoulders kept dislodging them as they had been glued on without him in the costume, I also reversed the way the bricks were going so that his shoulders wouldn't bash them.

Gina did booth singing that wasn't on the mic plot so I filled in the songs and adjusted the songs where the mic change was needed.

The cast were also saying that they needed running orders so I went and made some and placed them throughout the dressing rooms and backstage.

There weren't any A2 posters so I had to cover the information on the sign, we tried scrubbing it out with pen however this didn't work so we're cutting it up tomorrow, I also finished up the merchandise table ready to be sold.
