Drama Evening-20/07/15

Lesson 5+6
First of all I patched the lights in the drama studio, I then tested all of them by standing in the dance studio and Scott pressed the buttons and I shouted to him if they turned on or not.

Then I set up a new show on Chamsys, I recorded 2 blue lights into the programme to use for later. Then I just set the different lights for people to focus, so I'd type the number of the dimmer and then the intensity in the format of - dimmer @ intensity. I also learnt how to set 2 lights at the same intensity simultaneously- dimmer 1 + dimmer 2 @ intensity.

Then I focused a light, I put on some gloves so I didn't burn my hands then with the light on got Beth to be the 'actor'. I then climbed the ladder with Olly spotting me and moved the light across so it was more centre stage, then I also moved it up so there was more coverage over Beth and the back wall. Then I helped Mr Hancock focus another red light, he showed me how to move the bulb to allow a difference in coverage.

The Performance
Before the rehearsal with Mr Hancock's help I programmed the lights, we only needed 4 so we assigned to 4 different faders, there was 1- Blue dimmers, 2-Red dimmer, 3- General wash, 4- Flashing random lights. For the flashing light we just selected all the dimmers and then programmed a 1 second alteration on them. In the format (dimmer @ intensity) I programmed the lights by pressing record once I programmed the lights, then I would assign it to a fader, then I would clear the programme to programme the next one.

Mr Hancock also cued up the audio, which I reordered, however when Mr Hancock left before the  performance we didn't have some of the audio for other performance. We had to cue it up on Youtube, however as I don't have access to Youtube on my account, Mrs Nixon Young had to open all the tabs and I had to manually play them, fade and stop them in Youtube. This was made harder as I didn't have a full script for any of the performances so I had to rely on Mrs Nixon-Young to tell me when to stop and start the music. When operating the audio I had to press the number key that corresponds to the cue needed then I just pressed the fade button to fade the music out and 'esc' to stop it.
