Bugsy Malone-30/06/15-Study Lessons 3+4

Lesson 3:
Barber Sign
I created the stripes on Illustrator then saved them and imported them as smart objects onto a blank page in Photoshop.
Then I used the font I sourced yesterday and placed it on top. I also added a black boarder to help blend the projection.
The sign needed some texture to age it so again I lowered the fill and transparency of the rust and layered it on top.
Again once black and white it looses it's effect, so on Thursday I'm going to talk to Mr Hawkins about keeping them in colour.
Restaurant Sign
I first of all started to reorganise the mock up restaurant sign. Then I tired just the flag as the background and it was really effective. The font for the sign I used the barbers one again as it looked better than the one we original designated- Sanitero.
Start of reorganisation

I only had the pasta sign so I decided to add a gelato to it as well. I tried using the magic wand tool to separate the ice cream but it also took away the cracks in the cone so I just used the eraser tool.
Cropping the ice cream.

Using the eraser tool.

Adding to Mama's.

After play around with the positioning.
Lesson 4:
Laundry Sign
Used inspiration from a Chinese laundry sign I found on Google Images.
Made a block background on Photoshop then used a font I sourced to write the text (as dictated by the script).
I then added a red boarder to make it look like more of a sign. I also Google Translated the word 'laundry' and copied it into the text underneath the english for laundry. I also layered the rust ontop to add texture again and lowered the fill and transparency.
On Air Sign
On Youtube I watched a tutorial on how to give font a neon look, I watched it on my phone and directly followed the steps on my laptop on Photoshop producing the sign.

Auditions Sign
Then using bevel and emboss in Photoshop on a font I previously sourced I created the audition sign.
